Our sweet little Cleo joined us in severe distress from our local animal control one 4th of July weekend. She was seen immediately by our vet and it was determined she was in heart failure and also suffered from a collapsed trachea. With the right medication and lots of love she bounced back. Over time Miss Cleo also went into renal failure and received supportive care and lots of pampering until it was time for her to become a shining star.
Our gorgeous Tiny came to live with us when his owner sadly passed away. He was a very sweet and loving senior boy who enjoyed spending his days lounging around with the other nuggets and loved his tooshy scrathches. One day it became clear that Tiny was ready to make that final journey and he become a shining star over the rainbow bridge.
Sweet Licorice was living in a very bad situation and came to live amongst the nuggets. She was diagnosed with a neurological disorder and had limited use of her rear legs, but that never stopped her from getting what she wanted. Her time with us was brief but we enjoyed every day we had. She is now pain free and shining bright in the sky.
This gorgeous nugget was our Princess Grace. Princess Grace's story is a sad one, you see she had a family once upon a time and lived on a big property down in The Redlands, Florida. One day her family packed up all their belongings into a moving truck and drove away, leaving this sweet girl all alone to fend for herself. Another rescue called Chain of Love took her under their wing, got her some much needed medical attention, and put her in a safe place. Sadly Princess Grace was diagnosed with Cancer and we were lucky enough to have the privilage of spoiling her her last few months. She is now free of pain shining bright over the rainbow bridge.
This handsome little nugget was our Domino, the sweetest little guy in town. Domino joined us with a long list of medical ailments but they never got this little boy down. He had such a will to live and we pampered and loved him until it was time for him to shine bright in the sky. We miss your nightly demands for dinner little man and hope you found little Paris and are running free together!
This beautiful little soul was our Penny Nugget. She was a very sweet young lady who came to us blind and heartworm positive. Not long after joining our nugget family she had a couple seizures and developed a neurological disorder which caused her to be paralyzed off and on. She was such a loving little nugget who would comfort other injured or ill fosters despite her own ailments. It was a joy to have you as part of our family until it was time for you to shine bright over the rainbow bridge.
If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.
My heart's still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.
